- Dawn Watch is a non-profit, single issue organization. Our focus is stopping
Washington's newest nuke dump from becoming operational. The dump is located
adjacent to the Spokane Indian Reservation. The company is Dawn Mining Company, a
subsiderary of Newmont Gold. The site is a old uranium mill that that has a
330,000,000 cu. foot tailings pond that the company wants to turn into a commercial
low-level nuke dump. The site is leaking radioative leachate from numerous seeps and
springs into Chimokane Creek which is within the Spokane Indian Reservation. Phone or fax
